Challenges 😰
-
Working in luxury retail environment in flagship boutique on New Bond St serving delicious coffee to high end customers and VIP guests.
-
Dealing with a very small amount of service space and very high demand for our coffee and snacks. Making sure our cafe area stays clean and presentable despite being very busy at times.
-
Managing team of eight baristas over longer lasting pop-up event. Making sure we have a clear shifts system, do regular stock check and also organising of both coffee, milk and food deliveries.
-
Learning more about tradition and beginnings of Diptyque brand so we can advise customers on different products available in the store.
Solutions Implemented ✅
Customisable Menus
We offered the client five different coffee roasters to choose from to ensure they get exact flavour of coffee that they are looking for. We worked alongside Social Pantry (premium catering company) to make sure their pre-made snacks offerings are always presented and stored correctly.
Branding Options
We used branded take away cups as well as Diptyque own brand of porcelain wear. Produced laser cut logo stencils for hot chocolate and cappuccinos and fully branded aprons.
Team Management
We organised team training for consistent food and drink presentation and service as well as an extra health and safety session.
Extra Activities
We organised three two-hour workshops for customers that wanted to learn more about coffee. Classes included basic knowledge about speciality coffee and lesson in home brewing methods.
Operational Strategy
To make sure operations ran smoothly we planned logistics months ahead of opening of the popup. Provided our staff with detailed manual as well as daily tasks list to make this unusual environment feel more like a real cafe.
Outcomes
-
Welcoming shop customers with hot drinks proved to be great idea for this new location flagship store and showroom.
